If you need help right now

You don't have to get through this alone.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, or you are worried about someone who is, help is available right now. The lines below are free and confidential.

Medical emergency

If someone is in immediate physical danger, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital right away.

While you wait for help

A few things that can steady the moment.

  • Take it one breath at a time. Breathe in slowly, hold for a count of four, breathe out slowly.
  • Reach someone you trust. A friend, a family member, or one of the lines above. You do not have to explain everything.
  • Move away from anything that could cause harm, if you can. Put distance between yourself and it.
  • Stay where there are people if that feels safer. You do not have to be alone right now.
  • Remember the feeling will shift. Intense moments pass, even when it does not feel like they will.

Worried about someone you love?

If a friend or family member is in distress, the same helplines above can help you think through what to do next. You do not need to have the right words. Staying with them, listening without judgement, and helping them dial a line is enough.

When you're ready for ongoing support

There is no rush. When the moment has passed and you want someone to talk to regularly, we are here to help you build a longer-term plan with a clinician.

Note: the Emoneeds care line (+91 92180 57130) is for booking and existing-client support during clinic hours. It is not a crisis hotline. If you are in distress right now, please use one of the helplines above.

Whenever you're ready, however you'd like.

Three ways to start.
